We recently launched a new monthly series called “Extra Special Teas: Employee of the Month.” We have celebrated four people since starting this in July. Patrick, Sonali, Laurie and, most recently, for the month of October, Michael B. Each of these friends have many unique qualities that provide the whole of EST with powerful insight and pieces of gentle wisdom that other people can learn from. Michael B in particular, shows us the value of consistency,laughter,hardwork despite many different types of challenges and the sweetness which comes from a small smile during someone else’s hard times. A loving interaction that I have with Michael B is when he comes into work and sits down either laughing or smiling. I ask him if he is happy or why he is laughing today and he responds with “ Yes, I am happy.” I ask why and get a joyful response of “ Because I am here.I like to work.” He goes around the room he is in and tells us that he likes each of us individually. This generally tends to bring smiles and /or laughter to everyone else who is also inside the room with Michael B. It is always a good thing to see. Especially if anyone else is having a bad or a difficult time during the day.
